Marathalli
Halli in Kannada means village. A fighter aircraft named Marut had an accident in this area; So the area is called Marathahalli. The famous Outer Ring Road of Bangalore passes through Marathahalli.

Until the late 1990s the area was a sleepy village in the outskirts of Bangalore. Following the IT boom, its close proximity to HAL Airport, Whitefield, Sarjapur Road and Electronics City and the presence of the Outer Ring Road, this area has boomed into a self sufficient township. There are a large number of cloth stores, supermarkets and other shops in this area which retail products at a cheaper rate compared to the rest of the city. A large number of flats and IT companies have also come up in the area. The first multiplex in Bangalore, Innovative Multiplex is located here. A new clothes mall Brand Factory is also located here. This place has got lots of traffic Jam.

Whitefield is a suburb of Bangalore in the state of Karnataka, India, is a planned development near Bengaluru that was developed with the intention of attracting major global technology players. It is renowned for Sathya Sai Baba's ashram called Brindavan and as a haven for a number of multinational information technology companies.

Until the late 1980s, Whitefield was a small village which was a retirement colony for Anglo-Indians. It has since become a major hub for the Indian technology industry. The Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP) at Whitefield of one of the country's first information technology parks - International Tech Park, Bangalore (ITPB) which houses offices of many IT and ITES companies. The EPIP zone also has offices of other IT and R&D giants like TCS, Accenture, Symbian (Symbian India Ltd.), GE (John F. Welch Technology Center), Wipro, GE Medical Systems, iGATE Global Solutions, Sapient, Manhattan Associates, SAP Labs, Perot Systems, Dell, IBM, Intel, United Telecoms and Oracle. An Intel Xeon processor code named Whitefield was being developed (but was scrapped later) in Intel's ITPB campus (Intel has since moved its campus from ITPB)

Now Whitefield is officially part of Bangalore city with it being included into BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) Whitefield also has major medical facilities such as the Satya Sai Baba Hospital which specializes in cardiovascular and neurological surgeries.

St.Joseph's Convent School, the oldest school in the vicinity, still retains its old-world charm; and the Our Lady of Lourdes Church on the other side of the hill still paints a pretty picture in an otherwise rampantly-urbanizing suburb. The Stations of the Cross statues on the Church Hill bring in visitors from across the city during the Holy Week. The crucifix on the top of the hill silently witnesses the changing landscape.

International Tech Park Bangalore or simply ITPB, developed and managed by Ascendas is India’s first hi-tech park of its kind designed to provide a complete ‘work & play’ environment for IT and technology-related businesses. It is unique in its 'work and play' concept offering high-quality infrastructure combined with extensive amenities and recreational facilities/activities.
